March 8, 2007 - 2001 & Younger U.S. Syrah

Below are the results of our March tasting of 2001 and younger U.S. Syrah. The top three wines, all from the Central Coast, stood out from the rest of the group. There were three representatives from Napa and one from Washington state, all of which finished near the bottom of the pack.

4. 2003 Denner, Paso Robles (1/2/0/0, 10 points)
5. 2004 Dom Alfred, Califa, Edna Valley (2/0/0/1, 9 points)
6. 2002 Alban, Tithings, Edna Valley (1/1/1/0, 9 points)
7. 2001 Phelps, Napa (0/1/1/2, 7 points)
8. 2001 Owen Roe, DuBrul Vineyard, Yakima Valley (0/1/0/1, 4 points)
